The Saint-Bénézet bridge in Avignon and the Mont Ventoux. One of the most famous bridges in France, Pont Saint-Bénézet was built in the late 12th century, almost 900 meters long, an architectural feat comparable to our modern bridges. Saint-Bénézet fell into ruins in the course of the centuries, only four arches survive, yet its fame was secure thanks to the song "Sur le pont d' Avignon", dating back to the 16th century, while the modern version was made popular when Adolphe Adam used it in his 1853 opera "Le sourd, ou L'auberge pleine".
