At the foot of Mont-Ventoux, bédoin is the last stop before the climbing of the Giant of Provence. very famous and popular market on monday morning each week.
The fafade of Saint-Anumin-et Saint-Pierre church is of pure Spanish Jesuit style.
The small village of Bedoin faced the wrath of the sanguinary lerreur (a popular commission based in Orange and presided by Maignet) after the french Revolution. Suspicious of counter-revolutionary actions the lerreur completely destroyed the village and executed many of its inhabitants. A monument in the village square reminds passers-by of the atrocities that took place in the village. |
