Here's another shot that I took in the medieval village of Gattieres on the French riviera.
Those who are familiar with this region would tell you that cicada (Cigales) and Provence go hand in hand. The Provencal cicada are famous for their acoustic talents. With their mating song, comes the Summer season. Provencials also believe that cicada symbolize luck and prosperity. Most houses of the region have at least one statue of Cicada also known as "jar flies".
I was particularly attracted to this house as by itself it gathered all symbols of The Provence (lavendar, porcelaine, and cicada).
