And a little EcoMuseum of traditional life of the steep-sided Roudoule valley. Then high hairpin climbing, higher again to surprising, remote Auvare hanging on the rock face of a deep gorge cleft. Some restoration had been going on --- especially central alley paving. In quite a few of these Alpes-Maritimes villages European and UN funding was assisting recovery where there is little local economy.
